The Run Down

My blog has been on a brief hiatus due to a much needed vacation, and It was such a beautiful trip. Although I was eager to jump on a plane and go somewhere far away, Parke and I ended up staying in the country just 8 hours away. We went to block island off of rhode island for a night and then made our way up the coast to maine. I've never really been to the new england areas, let alone as high north as Maine. To put it lightly, the scenery was breathtaking. It was sunny all 6 days and not one single rain drop fell. Parke and I hiked, camped, biked and explored the town of Bar Harbor, it was full of adventure and activities. I have a new appreciation for the land I live in, and discovered the adventure and beauty I am looking for is in my own backyard. Here are a few of my favorite pictures. Hooping

Listed in my interests, you will find that I love to hula hoop! I started hooping about 3 years ago now and Its just the best, the feeling is one I would compare to someone who dances. Its very relaxing and centering. Here are just a few shots of myself hooping. More to come!

Safari Dress

I have a feeling that stamping clothing is becoming a hobby. I went over to goodwill this morning and found myself a pretty golden dress by H&M, and began stamping! This time I made cut-outs of giraffes and an emu for the sake of the safari theme.
I really love giraffes and i thought they when perfectly with the color of the dress too. You can see my other piece HERE.

<a href="http://www.bloglovin.com/blog/3955160/?claim=pknnp3y9gxs">Follow my blog with Bloglovin</a>

Let me first begin with the fact that I am now on bloglovin, so feel free to follow me there! With my vacation just around the corner I am getting very excited! Parke and I are going up to Maine to Acadia national park, we will be staying in a darling little cottage for a few nights and camping the rest of the vacation. I am particularly happy because it is going to be packed with adventure and new discoveries! Also I can't wait to cook outside! Once vacation is over school starts right back up. This semester worries me because after having substantial time to relax, I am afraid that getting back into the "swing of things" will be a challenge...not to mention trigonometry. Although summer is not yet over, I have to say it has been great. I did so many new things like creating this blog, cooking ALOT, and tuning into my artistic abilities much more. Sadly, I do know that I won't have nearly as much time to do these fantastic things because I will be busy writing papers and studying anatomy! Although I said I was nervous about school I am also ready to get down to business and keep up that GPA. This was a long overdue post about what has been going through my mind.

Stencil Skirt!

I discovered this little gem here. I brought myself right over to goodwill in search of a white dress, instead I found this beautiful skirt by Ann Taylor for 8 dollars! my next stop was the craft store for the foam paper and fabric paint that I used for the stamp. This idea is very easy to do and the best part is, its custom made!

My beautiful flowers!

Today I was finally able to get into the garden and remember to take pictures of everything now that it has flowered. The most recent pictures I have of the garden is when it was still in the process of growing!

Time For a Picnic!

Todays plans were all over the place, I'm getting over a bad chest cold so cleaning at my home care job, like I normally do, wasn't in the plans. Instead, I had a spontaneous picnic with a friend!

Re-Fashioned Bag

So after what I considered to be a "flop", I brought myself back to goodwill on the search for another bag. This time I found the perfect one. In lack of floral fabric I held off on pasting flowers on this one, and I'm really liking the way it looks without them!
