Lemon-Cayenne Quinoa With Sautéed Tofu

Okay, this one is brag worthy! I wasn't sure exactly what I was going to make for dinner tonight, so I just started with the quinoa and all of the sudden I ended up with a dinner with a masterpiece! I used fresh vegetables just picked from the garden today (cayenne pepper, string beans, and basil) the flavors from the red pepper with the tamari sauce was just savory!

Pondersome

Today is very rainy, as I was driving along a few thoughts came to my mind that made me wonder....

  • Why are women's haircuts so expensive?
  • Who thought of stuffing bird feathers into a cloth sack? And how long did it take to collect said feathers for one pillow?
  •  When did women start wearing nail polish? And what was it made from?
  • When did people decide that brushing their teeth was a good idea?
Just a few pondersome ideas for this rainy day!

Half Year Highlights!

As I was driving down the highway today, I thought about whats happened so far since the new year rolled in. There were good times and of course there were not-so-good (we have to keep the balance right?) but all in all it hasn't been to shabby thus far.

A few moments to emphasize are...

1. Having a very modest winter ( Have to thank mother nature for that one)

2. Parke went away on a 2 month tour with his band, this was not very joyful

3. Beginning to work on the garden in april

4. Acing my anatomy class!

5. Seeing the red hot chili peppers live!

6. Planning my vacation to Maine with Parke

7. Spending time with friends

8. New hoops! New tricks!

The Energy Of Woodstock

So yesterday Parke, my mom, Harvey and I went to bethel woods to picnic and check out the Woodstock museum. I really liked the spot that we picnicked, it was on a grassy hill with an old farm in the background. We ate fruit, tuna sandwiches, quinoa and tofu and not-so-iced iced tea. The rain held out until we were just about finished with our lunch and then we headed over to the museum. The museum did a wonderful job of preserving the energy that is left from that day. I wish I had that opportunity to see some of those artists. I also managed to buy a new hula hoop too!
Here are a few pictures of the museum

Gradient Nails!!

I saw these nails online and Absolutely loved the color combination. I painted my nails orange first, after they dried I used a foam wedge to sponge on the yellow. after they dried I put two clear top coats. They came out so neat!

First Harvest!!

I was so eager this morning to pick my veggies! I picked all of my radishes and a few yellow wax string beans. I couldn't resist and ate one of my radishes and let me tell you, it was the best darn radish I've every tasted!

Jack was also interested in the harvest!

Down Time

So After work today I was in such a lazy mood, playing draw something and words with friends was getting old fast. Just then a flash of creativity came over me. I decided to re-design a t-shirt. This was something that I tried the other day for fun, and to my surprise it came out really neat! I decided to try this on my Event Horizon shirt, and this is how it looks now!

For those who don't know, event horizon is my boyfriends band, to give them a listen just click "READ MORE"

In Other News...

My hula hoops came in the mail today!! needless to say I am very excited to learn some new moves for these mini hoops. Also, the vacation I am planning is coming along quite nicely. I made reservations at a darling little cottage in bar harbor Maine. We will be spending three nights there and then an additional 2-3 camping in Acadia national park. There are so many spectacular views and hiking trails. I am especially anticipating all of the adventures like riding bikes, hiking and camping. Its all coming together... And its a well deserved vacation!!
